I am classroom teacher by day Friend. And, I had a ‘please God, no’ moment weeks ago.
One of my pupils, let's call him K.
So, K is like the dullest child in my class and I try (Lord knows I do) to carry him along with stories when I can. I teach primary 5 so it's not easy to act like I am teaching kindergarten.
During devotion on Monday, the question went: who remembers what their teacher taught last week?
All the other pupils were quiet. Then, K raised his hand. I panicked friend. I did. God no! Now, they would say this teacher is not doing well. Of everyone here, why him?
The head teacher looked away from him urging the other pupils: yes? who?
Another teacher jumped in: sir, K from primary 5 is raising his hand (people can not mind their business 😭)
I almost fainted. K was called to the podium and…
Friend, he recounted the first lesson we had the last Friday. He did it with all my demonstrations. K did it! The head teacher gifted him a dozen of books on the spot. His classmates were shocked.
Everyone was. I was shocked(est). How had that happened?
Dear Friend, life happens like that. The one thing you are sure of fails and the other thing you looked down on thrives with a fierceness that surprises you.
Take it easy. Face all things with Joy, Deep Drive and Hope.
You never know which one will be watered, which one will be your K.
After all, God does know better than we do and he has a far better plan than ours.
Enjoy your weekend.
Love, A
