Yes, you're in the XYZ 💃🕺
X is for RANDOM
I just learnt that reading a new book is like frying ripe plantain. You first want to peel the layers slowly and get to the main thing but you cannot help admire the tenacity this first layer displays.
Then, you slice the chapters and stroke after stroke, you wonder of you are getting it right? If this is what the writer meant?
But, you must season it with your imagination. You must salt it add pepper to spice it up.
Next, comes the hot oil and you let this book cook. You feel the emotions and bring it out to the world. You tell friends or you forget it because it just isn't for you. It's burnt smell wakes you and now you must find a place to dump it.
Yes, a new book is like frying ripe plantain and you know this too.
Y is for UPDATE
I am focused on rewriting Gifted. It's the book 2 of my Into the light series.
By the way, a press has picked up my chapbook of twenty poems for publication. I sent back the signed contract already and I am giddy with excitement. It will be my first printed collection of poems.
Whisper a prayer of thanks for me to the heavens (I might keep you updated 😉)
